SAN DIEGO – (Friday, December 4, 2009)–The NCUST Excellence in Urban Education Award recognizes the dedication and talent of urban school educators and students. The award is given annually to a small number of public schools and public charter schools that have achieved excellent academic results for all the populations they serve.
Approximately 10 schools will receive the 2010 Excellence in Urban Education Award. Winners will be recognized in Long Beach, California at the NCUST Symposium May 5-7, 2010. Each winner will receive travel costs to Long Beach, a check for $1,000, a High Performing Urban Schools large banner, and a framed certificate acknowledging the school’s distinction. Winners will be expected to present sessions at the Symposium, as educators from across the nation seek to learn about the winners’ impressive accomplishments.
To be eligible for consideration, schools must meet all of the Elegibility Criteria. All applicants that meet the criteria will be placed on NCUST’s School Honor Roll for 2010. These schools will receive a certificate indicating that they met the Center’s rigorous eligibility criteria. Profiles of all Honor Roll Schools will be placed on the NCUST website. |
