SAN DIEGO – (Friday, December 4, 2009)–The NCUST evaluators have begun reviewing the applicants for the 2010 Excellence in Urban Education Award. The award is given annually to a small number of public schools and public charter schools that have achieved excellent academic results for all the populations they serve. At least 50 schools are in the applicant pool, many of which will be added to the NCUST Honor Roll of High Performing Urban Schools. A few schools will be selected for site visits and the most outstanding schools will receive a $1,000 prize and a trip to Long Beach to present as winners at the 2010 NCUST High Peforming Urban Schools Symposium.
