NATIONAL CENTER ANNOUNCES 2008 EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNERS

 The National Center for Urban School Transformation at San Diego State University has announced eleven winners for the 2008 National Excellence in Urban Education Award. Selected from nearly seventy applicant schools, all exemplify the rigorous and committed work that results in high quality urban education. These eleven exceptional schools will be honored at the NCUST 3rd Annual Symposium, May 8-9, 2008 in San Diego.

 What's New at NCUST
Irvine Foundation Continuation High School Study

NCUST, in collaboration with researchers from Stanford University’s John Gardner Center and WestEd, recently completed an intensive study of California’s continuation high schools. The study, made possible through a generous grant by the James Irvine Foundation, sought to increase public and policymaker awareness of the state’s chief intervention program for youth at risk of not earning a high school diploma.
